"No one is prepared for the loss of a loved one, no matter how anticipated that loss is. We all knew my Father was dying. We also knew how soon that would be, but none of us was ready. When I received the phone call from my Mother that my Father had died during the night, of course, I called the people I knew would do the best for him and for our family, The Brooks Family. Their sensitivity and pastoral presence in our time of need was so deeply appreciated. They came to our home, carefully, compassionately, caringly prepared my Father's body for transferal to the car. It was as if they knew exactly what we needed before we knew. And, they met that need in every way possible. During the planning process, The Brooks Family focused on what we wanted for our Father. No detail was too small or large. Each detail was carefully attended. We are so deeply grateful for their presence and their professionalism. I wouldn't call anyone else."

"I want to express my gratitude for the kind, caring, sensitive, and personable manner in which you handled arrangements for my loved one. Also, I appreciate that you did not press me the day of the 'viewing' about the extra time I realize now that I took.
I was pleased with the services you rendered and will certainly pass this on to anyone who may eventually need you."
Sincerely, Rose Williams
"My Mother was dying from cancer and we knew it. No one ever wants to have to go through the process of making funeral arrangements for someone they love. But we all must do it at some point.
We cannot speak highly enough of the care offered by The Brooks Family Funeral Homes. Our family has known the Brooks Family since 1950. John P. Brooks arranged a beautiful service at our Synagogue and made sure every detail we were concerned about was honored.
No matter what the cost, funerals are not inexpensive. The services we had for my brother at a large north Dallas funeral home in 1997 cost almost 100 percent more than the service the Brooks' arranged in 2001 for my Mother.
John Brooks later called and told us he had made an addition mistake on our contract and he was refunding a large amount of money. We hadn't questioned the cost and we were busy grieving. We never would have looked at the paperwork again. Our confidence in their honesty soared.
We learned a lot from this experience that most people do not know. Just because we happen to own cemetery plots at Hillcrest Memorial Park, (or any particular cemetery), by State law we are not required to use all of their funeral directors or services. We also learned that by state law the casket can be purchased at one of many different places and the funeral home must use it.
We believe in giving charity to the truly needy. We are able to do that with money we did not spend on Mom's service. Don't misunderstand, the service was truly lovely, and just as we had requested. She would have been beaming about that, as her life was devoted to charity."
